The challenge

Gio Bastian makes handbags out of wood, by hand, in Italy. It is an object people stop to look at, and then ask the obvious questions: is it heavy, is it fragile, does it survive the rain? A product this unusual needs a brand that feels like luxury and a store that answers every doubt before it turns into a lost sale.

Our approach

We built a brand around the material and the craft, starting from the line the founder lives by: wood is a gift of the earth. The store presents the collections the way a boutique would: wooden cases, chic clutches, jelly bags and the Luxury line, each bag with its own name. The doubts get answered up front: water resistant, with a shoulder strap, easy returns within 14 days. Italian and English versions and a multi-currency checkout open it to buyers abroad.
